    International Market Centers Supports High Point Redevelopment through Donation to HP365 and a Founders Suite at New Ballpark

    Pledge is part of ongoing investments in High Point and the home furnishings industry

     

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – (June 28, 2018) - International Market Centers (IMC) is making a key investment in the High Point community and home furnishings industry with a $500,000 donation to year-round entrepreneur center HP365.

    “We are thrilled to play a role in the exciting economic development happening in the City of High Point,” said Bob Maricich, chairman and CEO for IMC. “HP365 is just one more way we can support innovation in the home furnishings industry and drive local entrepreneurship on a grassroots level.”

    The center, an initiative of Business High Point-Chamber of Commerce, will provide workspace and resources to empower small businesses and startups in the home furnishings industry. The 100,000-square-foot building will be located at 410 W. English Road, adjacent to the new stadium complex.

    “This generous support by IMC is a reflection of their commitment to the High Point community and to their belief in the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit which is going to drive the future of the furnishings industry,” said Patrick Chapin, president and CEO of Business High Point – Chamber of Commerce.

    In addition, IMC has made a $500,000 commitment to the newly announced baseball stadium, BB&T Point, by leasing a Founder Suite. “This catalyst project to drive economic development in the downtown area will not only benefit the local community on a year-round basis but will also bring additional services and amenities to our bi-annual market visitors, so it is really a win-win for everyone,” said Scott Eckman, president of home furnishings leasing at IMC. “We hope other building owners in High Point will join us in investing in High Point development.”

    The donation to HP365 and funding of the new ballpark are an extension of IMC’songoing effort to support the home furnishings industry and surrounding High Point community. In addition to these initiatives, IMC supports numerous trade initiatives including the annual City of Hope and Hall of Fame fundraising efforts, WithIt events and awards, Gift for Life, among others. IMC also supports local charities through employee volunteer activities as well as monetary donations. Local charitable organizations supported by IMC include: United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater High Point, A Simple Gesture, West End Ministries, Hospice of the Piedmont, Always a Lady, Open Door Ministries, Salvation Army Backpack Campaign, Pink Cares Piedmont, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont, JDRF, American Heart Association, Women in Motion of High Point, YWCA, March of Dimes, Theatre Art Galleries, and High Point Regional Hospital to name some.
